ipad Technology Opens Doors for 100-Year-Old Oregon Resident

Circulating around the Internet today is a short little video about Virginia and her new ipad. What makes this unique? Virginia is a 100-year-old Lake Oswego resident, and the ipad is her first computer. Her family says she was able to figure it out quite easily, and has used it to read two books and write limericks (which she could not do previously due to worsening glaucoma.)

Hope this brings a smile to your face (PS: if you watch all the way, you'll get a sample of one of Virginia's limericks.)

(The Judge Harry Pregerson Interchange, Los Angeles, California)

On their blog recently, they posted their picks for the "19 Most Complex and Dangerous Roads in the World". Take a look at the photos and descriptions, and you'll be reluctant to ever gripe about Portland Metro area roads again!

Video Explains Cycle Tracks and Buffered Bike Lanes

The City of Portland has released a short and informative video explaining two new bicycle lane treatments that you might encounter in Portland: cycle tracks and buffered bike lanes. Both lane types work to make it easier for cars and bicycles to share the road.

Have you cycled on one of these bike lanes yet? Have you driven near one? How do you like them?
